Resounding success of the second edition of the Gastronomic Forum in Santiago

More than 23,000 people have passed through ExpoSantiago over three days of intense activity
Pep Palau and Jaume von Arend, directors of the Gastronomic Forum have shown enormous satisfaction after closing this second edition of the Santiago Gastronomic Forum 2015, describing it as a resounding success since they have even exceeded the figures of the last edition.
The large number of people who have attended during the three days confirms the great interest that gastronomy arouses both among professionals and among the gourmet public. This is demonstrated by 100% occupancy in workshops and activities as well as the long queues that have formed to access the venue, the sessions as well as the new Cook Trends and Grocery tasting spaces.
Almost a hundred professionals have carried out nearly 70 activities distributed among the large Auditorium, with capacity for 400 people, 4 workshops and stands. The occupancy percentage has been 100% in all spaces; workshops without places available, an auditorium up to the flag and a full fair has been the general tone of the three days.
Exclusive sessions have been held, of great spectacularity such as that of the most recognized butcher in France Yves-Marie Le Bourdonec, that of Shinya Fukumoto, Jordi Roca or Pepe Solla. It is worth noting the role of chefs from A Coruña, such as Luis Veira or Iván Domínguez, among others, whose demonstrations were a real success. Participants and prescribers also showed great enthusiasm and pointed out the unique nature of the program and the Forum model, which this year has had fire, charcoal and grill as the thematic axis.
On the other hand, it is important to point out the great involvement of companies and the high degree of satisfaction of exhibitors – more than 600 brands represented – in a fair area that has grown by 40% compared to the previous edition. The Forum has shown once again that it is an excellent commercial platform and proof of this are the numerous activities organized by the exhibitors who have also had a very high occupancy rate in their activities.
Also noteworthy is the internationalization of the event that has had Porto as a guest territory and companies from Italy that have been present at the fair.
For its part, the City Forum has expanded spaces and activities, which have registered absolute crowds. The Cook Trends in the city has been one of the most acclaimed novelties by the public. In total, more than 10,000 people have participated in the 2020 City Forum.
